Tunguska!
I just picked up this point and click game, and so far it's been a pretty good time. I don't usually play this genre, but that's why I decided to support the developers and pick it up for the $20 price. What's most awesome about the game are the detailed backgrounds, which have subtle animatioins on things that you would excpect to be moving, making each scene seem alive. The item interaction system works well also, but that should be expected in this type of game. I've only put in about 3 hours thus far, but I plan to play again later tonight, because the story is interesting so far.

Long time, no blog. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make my own deadline of November 19th for completing Home Base, but progress has been made on it nonetheless. Solid-Notes has nearly finished all the tracks for the game (this is one thing that I am really happy about). The level editor is complete (aside from loading custom levels). The menu is complete (aside from the help and credits sections). The actual gameplay is nearly complete.... I need to code a bunch of objects that will be unique to the level editor... meaning that how well you do in the game enables you to use special objects on your own levels. There's also just a whole bunch of little touches that I want to put in, but keep putting off. My goal now is to finish the game before Christmas.

Below, you can see a snazzy pic I made in Photoshop. Most of the art I do (besides game art) these days are class assignments, but they're always pretty fun to do. The assignment was to make a movie poster for an upcoming movie/sequel. Sin City was a badass movie, so I figured why not.Is it true there might actually be a sequel? I hope so.... and I need to buy myself a copy of the original.Anyway, both images used in the composition are property of their respective owners, and the font was free for download, luckily. It came out pretty nice.I just tried to duplicate the style of other posters that I found online (there's lots of them).
In game related news, I've set myself the deadline of November 19 to release Home Base. A lot of planning has gone into the current version, which looks quite a bit different than what you see in the in.dev section. In fact, nothing is really the same. The game is optimized from the inside out. I've got three testers helping me out as well as a talented composer who's planning to make 2+ minute tracks for each set of 10 levels. I'll disclose their identities in due time. So, the game should be complete by 11/19. Shortly after that, I'll release a music version because my composer and I agreed 1 month is too short to do all the tracks. Around the same time, I'll try to finish off a level editor, because I'm sure there will be countless possibilities when all gameplay elements can be combined together. I'll keep you updated. Thanks for your time.

I'm pretty excited because I got a job at a computer store, so I'll be around computer related things at work, school, and home... what has the world come to!? This does mean less GM time, but I always manage a way to get in at least a few good hours a week. Playing the Retro Remakes entries hasn't helped my case, however. There's quite a few good games this year that are quite addictive.
Not much other news from me. I want to finish Home Base before the end of the year. I'm thinking of simplifying it a bit because it seems a tad over-complicated when I look back on it now.
