I haven't been doing a whole lot of game making recently... I've been working a lot. I'd love to go into detail, but my job is fairly repetitive. I do the same thing everyday. I'm not saying I hate my job... waaaait... Well it makes me money... I can't complain right? I think the best way to describe it is boring. Right now, though it's been mostly grueling. It's back to school season, and some people feel that they need to buy hundred dollars worth of school supplies. I survived high school with a binder half full of paper... who needs dividers, and pencils... there's always someone bound to have an extra one (tip: a pen will last you five times as long). One supply that always gets me is book covers... come on if you're gonna buy one, you're admitting you're likely to screw up and spill something on your books in the future. Just take care of your.... you can see I wouldn't make a great salesmen.
I've still been pumping out some creative stuff though, even if it is because I was forced to, but either way, here's what I've done the last few months. First, though let me explain that this stuff was done for school projects. They're actually my finals for my classes. I wish I had more time to work on them. I admit they were actually fun to work on in the end, and they're gonna make great additions to my portfolio:
Animation Final:
Below you can see a 3d render of a bridge on an island in water (anyone have a better description?). This was part of a small animation that has a camera flying through an island. I'm gonna add a character to the animation next quarter... possibly outstretch some arms in first person, so it looks like youre a superhero flying around.
Web Authoring Final:
Here, you'll noticed that there's some information about something called Home Base.. yes that's the same Home Base that you can download in the in.dev section. Can't wait for the IGS results. I liked this website a lot to. I never got to making a navigation panel on the left, so it's a bit empty, but it still came out good.
Instructional Design Final:
Another website, this time a half-complete tutorial on how to create a space shooter. I liked the graphical look of this a lot. I spent a lot of time toying around with different designs and finally chose this because I was running out of time. This was done in Dreamweaver just like the Home Base website, so I didn't have to use any HTML, though I did toy around with it when needed.
Well, that about wraps up this bit of news. I promise to update a bit more from now on. I've got more time now that I don't have to commute to and from school for the next few weeks. Oh and if you've got more motivation on your hands than you know what to do with, toss some over here, cuz Id love to start working on another game.
