For those who wonder about Iji Ultimortal // 22:05
The game is still on its way, I'm currently working on the final boss. Once it's dealt with, however, the cutscene images and sound effects/voices are the major things that remain. Due to the nature of these features, I don't know how long they will take to do, so the game is still many months from done.

The best case scenario is that the game gets done in 2007. Worst case, summer 2008. Don't hold your breath, in other words. However, that the game will be completed and released before summer 2008 is a fact.

I should stress once again that this is a type of platformer in which you can't shoot while jumping or ducking - the focus is on weapon tactics and upgrading your character - just so you won't expect the game to be something it's not. Simply put, Iji is to Contra what System Shock is to Doom. In-depth beta testing will assure the quality and balance of the game.

I'm basically writing this update for the few who are interested - I only know of about twenty people. :P

For coming this far to read this, here's a unique sneak peek (if my server's working):

Good to hear.

I'm worried that I looked at that and thought "there's too much colour!" before moving onto the image contents themselves... :P

I like colorful games, like Equinox (though it had a different style). No-one's complained about Iji hurting their eyes yet, at least. :P It looks better in fullscreen.

Again, for the 3rd time, Iji is going to be one of THE GREATEST games ever made with Game Maker.

And again, too bad Iji ain't hot.

That would be a complete distraction.  I'm glad Ulti focused more on Iji's fluent animation rather than her looks...

If you fancy a hot main character, there's plenty of commercial games out there that satisfy that criteria.

You're just jealous because I've played UA and it's clear to see, you don't know how to do colour!  ;)

It's two enemies standing very close to each other, so it looks a bit weird. I guess telling who they are would be a bit of a spoiler, eventhough the screenshot in itself is.

Pug: You shouldn't do sarcasm over the Internet, unless you're using JXQ's sarcasm sign. :P

Three thumbs?

Assuming you only have two thumbs, the third 'thumb' must be some other appendage....  :o

Anyway, this game looks awesome.  Looks to have a depth that very very very few other GM games will have, or any freeware at all for that matter.  Or even shareware.  Or even commercial stuff.
