I just wanted to mention two good games from the Game Maker Community that I am really looking forward to playing, each with a very recent new demo.
The first is an action rpg by the name of Hidden Swords. I spent a good amount of time just leveling up. I only stopped because I eventually became too strong for the enemies in the first two areas. You can view the topic here: Hidden Swords
The second game is by a long-time buddy, Ed_cachun. If you end up mastering the gameplay in Cochone's Pursuit, then you will see just how much it has to offer. An excellent game, though a bit on the difficult side. You can view the topic here: Cochone's Pursuit
My remake of Kabuki Quantum Fighter is coming along steadily. I'm focusing a lot on the menu and user interface, which the original game lacked completely. I finished the save system yesterday, allowing for three save states. Here's a pic:
I've also added in joypad support. That might have been a mistake, because it took me a few days just figure out how to incorporate the joypad into my current control setup. Right now you can use the joypad and keyboard simultaneously, no need to specifiy the control scheme. I'm planning to add custom controls, but that might have to wait until after the comp is over. We'll see.

I had forgotten about Borek and Ed_cachun. I've only talked to them a little but they are very cool guys. I definitely would love for them to be part of Eo. BBaller, you should definitely at least nominate Ed_cachun.

BBaller, you might want to check for a bug a lot of people seem to miss. If you press the keyboard and the joypad at the same time.. you may move double speed.

Yup, I took care of that. I just use a variable like "global.key_attack" and set it either to true or false if either the keyboard key or joypad key is pressed. Then in the player code for attacking, I just do if(global.key_attack){//attack}. Same thing with the movement keys.
