Played chess with a 5 year old yesterday. Heh, the match didn't turn out too well for me, surprisingly.
I tried to show the kid (we had some friends over) one of my games on the comp, and strangly enough, he thought it was too difficult. wanted to use the mouse instead of the arrow keys. I think I might add mouse functionality to the game now lol...
also got me thinking about how controls affects the playability for certain people. younger people can't seem to focus on the screen and control more than one button per hand at the same time. He didn't have trouble whooping my sister's butt in Mortal Kombat, though on my xbox.
I've got no motivation to work on any game anymore. Got two books (small shakespeare stuff) to read for school, and some more homework to do before Tuesday, so I doubt I'll be on the comp too much.
Played bball only twice this break....

Lack of motivation = hamartia. I hate it when motivation melts; either way, good luck with the homework.

Lack of motivation? Again, that's where teammates come in. ;D
Anyway, for your game to be appreciated by the widest range of people, you have to place extra care on Accessibility. Playability (ease of interaction), having a clear introduction and a smooth learning curve all generates a positive effect on Accessibility. It's one reason why Wii and Wii Sports are so successful. At least, that's what I believe.
