CosMind's to-play list - you can help! CosMind // 19:58
edit so, i'm getting ready to finally put glum buster into beta testing.  after nearly 4 years of active development, it feels pretty surreal.  but, what's even more surreal is the fact that i've only played a hand full of video games since i started developing gb.  but!  alas!  the time has very nearly come for me to dive into a sweet binge of gaming glory to consume all of the goodness that i've been missing out on over these past years.
game's done.  time for me to play other folks' games :D

so, help me out!  i'm in need of pointers to what sweet play things i've neglected.  fire me off suggestions for any video games on any platforms that you feel i should include in my upcoming hours and hours of joy.  so far i have:

-- seiklus (complete!)
- the cleaner
- super mario galaxy
-- world of goo (complete!)
-- loco roco (complete!)
- patapon
- castlevania: order of ecclesia
- boom blox
- pixel junk eden
- pixel junk monsters
- braid
- bionic commando rearmed
--portal (complete!)
- ratchet and clank 5
- metal gear solid 4
- fable 2
- rondo of swords
- okami
- resident evil 4
- the legend of zelda: twilight princess
- little big planet
- fire emblem: path of radiance
- fire emblem: radiant dawn
- knytt
- knytt stories
-- left 4 dead (played it at a friend's.  it's an fps with nothing fundamentally new.  didn't really grab me.)
- steambot chronicles
- mother 3

help me get this list bigger-ed!

LittleBigPlanet by far (tho you already got it listed, so I won't delay you with more needless praise of it)

'Must Play' Games
Cave Story - PC (TBA Wiiware) - I noticed was missed, tho I have a hunch you have played this already (given some feedback I seem to recall).
Iji - PC - This would be another to check into.  One of the few GM games I actually took the time to complete 100%.
EDIT:  Knytt - PC - A bit short, but the atmosphere is great.  Heard Knytt Stories was good as well, but I haven't played it myself.

I'm also going to shout out, but not list as 'must play'
Left 4 Dead - PC/Xbox360 - Best if you got friends to 'co-op' with.
Fallout 3 - PC/Xbox360/PS3 - If you're into a long, 'deep'/atmospheric game, then this might be one to consider.  Either this or Oblivion/Morrowind.
BioShock - PC/Xbox360/PS3 - Mainly if your a fan of the System Shock series, tho it doesn't quite do that series justice ;P.

If I think of more, I'll add an edit.  You actually got quite a bit already listed there which should take up some considerable time.

On a side note, I'm actually surprised you never played Seiklus, given how long that's been out and being a somewhat GM staple.

gracias so far, both :)

yessir - enjoyed that all the way through back when it first came out :)

Cave Story - PC (TBA Wiiware) - I noticed was missed, tho I have a hunch you have played this already (given some feedback I seem to recall).
Iji - PC - This would be another to check into.  One of the few GM games I actually took the time to complete 100%.

both of those are actually some of those few games that i mentioned i had played.  finished cave story, and i got all the way to the final sector in iji (and have every intention of completing it in the near future).

On a side note, I'm actually surprised you never played Seiklus, given how long that's been out and being a somewhat GM staple.

i actually tried it out a year or two ago.  however, i got completely stuck very early on and couldn't find a way to continue.  so, i want to give it another go and see if i can get past the beginning part.

I mentioned Silent Hill 2 because you have Resident Evil 4 listed. If you're going to play a scary game, why not choose the best one? :)

Also, I'd replace Knytt with Knytt Stories if you're going to try only one of the two.

I think you mentioned that you already have the Bit Generations games. If not, be sure to get the Wiiware game Orbient.

Prepare for some disappointment with Twilight Princess and Okami.

haha - i don't anticipate resident evil 4 will be scary in the least.  now, silent hill 2 will scare the mess out of me to the point of unwanted nightmares (which equal loss of sleep).  i don't think i'd be able to handle any silent hill game, really.

Also, I'd replace Knytt with Knytt Stories if you're going to try only one of the two.

i'll try them both :)

yessir, i imported the bit gens for the gba.  they're excellent.

Prepare for some disappointment with Twilight Princess and Okami.

:(  perhaps i should nix twilight princess from my list, and not try to get back into okami, then?

Well, I'd give Twilight Princess a chance.  When I was playing it, I was considering it right up there with LttP (and personally better then Oot if you get past the nostalgia factor).  However, it seems to depend on whom is playing it and what your looking for in a Zelda game.  It's one of the few Wii games I've completed, so I got to give it some credit for playability.

Also, if nothing else, you can use the Twilight Hack to put the homebrew channel on your Wii (assuming Wii version of course) ;P

I never played Okami, so I can't really comment on that one.
