There didn't seem to be much interest for the demo of Paper Flight over at the GMC so I thought I would start posting some screenshots here as I make the game in hopes of interesting people. Here's a shot of the second mini-game, called 'The Pit'...
So far, I've completed all 18 race tracks of the game and 2 of 7 mini games. I've already decided to ditch having separate obstacle courses and mini games and just concentrate on the mini games instead. Three will be available at the start of the game, with four being unlockable. As well these will be around 50 of so unique trophies to be won, with an area set aside to display them. I'm still debating whether or not to have the trophy room as a 3D room that you can walk around in.

Lookin' nice; what's the goal of this mini game?

Looks great Ablach, actually reminds of a calculator game we used to play in math class called Falldown, except of course this is in 3D.

Basically just falling down a deep pit, and avoiding the rising floors. As you fall you gain speed, making the game more difficult. I'm trying to design games so that the player won't be able to make just one plane and play the whole game with it. Hopefully I'm succeeding.

Do you mean that you'll actually lose planes permanently? I like that idea. I can imagine including some measures you can take to repair a plane you like (such as tape), but having it never quite fly the same again. Maybe there could be some powerful restoration method that you can use only rarely.
Or maybe you just mean that you'll have to create several designs to suit the different challenges.
What if instead of (or in addition to) the trophy room, the planes themselves got decorated based on their achievements? They could also get stained and otherwise "decorated" by some of the things you put them through.

Exactly. I'm hoping that a single plane design won't be enough for people to complete the challenges properly. Whether I succeed or not is yet to be seen.

I thought about that, but the plane models are so small, only about 30 pixels or so, and appear larger than that on the screen, that any type of decoration I tried looked very blocky and displeasing. I figured it's best to stick to colour change.

Any chance that, instead of 'trophies' in the trophy room, you earn little folded origami statues? Like a frog, and a swan, and all those other cool things? If possible, that'd be awesome, and you could probably find the folding layouts online.
Might be difficult, though.

Difficult indeed. Probably more than I can handle since I'm planning on having so many. The trophy room will probably be the last thing I do so there's plenty of time considering how slow I am at making games.
