I've entered to YoYo competition with Garden Gnome Carnage. Check it out here.
The game's designed for plain arcade action, and the informative protips have you coming back for more (maybe). My hiscore is over two million, so it's very possible to practice and grow skilled at the game, eventhough it's difficult at first. The higher level you reach, the greater the carnage. Whopees, princesses, cone races and hidden messages written in gold bricks are waiting to be discovered.
Now to await the other Eo entries that will crush this one. :) Good luck everyone.

Hopefully that will drum up some interest and plays. If there's anything wrong w/ the review I can edit it.

good shot, ultimortal.
i wish you the best in the contest.
however, more than anything, i'd like to say how much i respect your diligence with your current projects (both this and iji). it's rare to see someone so genuinely focused on leveraging their peers for critical analysis in order to keep improving the game.
three thumbs up to you (and your teammates).
carnage to the people, indeed :D

Thanks CosMind. Without you guys I wouldn't have thought of two important features added the last few days.

This game is great. Been having fun with it this morning. Love the tons of lil touches, and the voices too. Is a nice way of making a simple concept replayable muchly.
Nice work.

A couple of people there are saying they can't download the game or play it on YoYo. Maybe you should let them know of an alternative download if there is any.

The game won't run in Vista, it's GM6.1. I tried using the GM6-to-7 utility but then it wouldn't run in Instant Play, which is required for the competition.

As far as I know, there's hardly anything (nothing?) one would have to change for compiling a GM6 file in v7... although that may just be my memory. I think nearly all the functions and signatures are the same. If you want a GM7 .exe building, you could ask one of us - although I guess that would mean disclosing the source code, so probably not.

I'm fine handing the source to you, but isn't GM7 also incompatible with older Windows versions?
I can't confirm it, but I read somewhere that a GM6.1 game upgraded with the 6-to-7 tool somehow runs under any Windows, as opposed to the restrictions of 6 and 7.
