Update! Matt Thorson // 08:20
I recently moved An Untitled Story over into the realm of shareware, using the same system that fellow eo-member cactus is using for his upcoming shooter (which, by the way, looks fantastic).

My previous post has more info on how to buy the game.  In addition, recently decided that if you donate at least $20 CAD I'll also send you the soundtrack (which may be sent out prior to the game's release).  I'm considering additional bonus content as well for even higher donations (one of which I've already received!  Wasn't expecting anything above $20.)

I've already received over $75.00 in donations.  A huge thanks to all who donated!

So how is the game progressing?

Well, I have to say things are going quite smoothly at the moment.  I just released the final demo, which doesn't really reveal much new stuff over the last demo but is just all-around a higher-quality showing (you can find it at my site).  Today I added a couple more "side-quests" to the game's ever-expanding list of optional activities.  Reaching 100% will really be a monumental task.  I've also started work on the 15th boss.  It is looking like the boss total will be somewhere between 17 and 20.

But enough talking it up.  The game is still, at it's heart, just a bunch of platforming ideas I have floating around in my head, and as much as I know it's my favorite creation of mine I'm still nervous what the public reaction will be - doubly so because I'm charging money for it, even if only a dollar.

If your pocket doesn't deserve their dollar, then their eyes don't deserve your masterpiece, my friend. I have a feeling that public reaction will be very good, if not better than any of your games to date, actually. I say this because in my experience of playing it and showing it to friends, it seems to appeal to a broad audience of gamers. My more hardcore-gaming friends loved it because they would hunt down all the secrets and play on the harder modes, yet those who are more casual can enjoy the dynamic simplicity at heart, and the wonderful sounds it breathes into your ears.

How poetic. Rock on, YMM, can't wait to play it all.

Wow! You're doing much better than I am. Three times the cash I've got in just a few days. Hope you get a lot more, you sure deserve it.

I'm definitely getting a copy after the summer. I'll throw in an extra dollar or two, maybe more  :-*

You seem rather successful with the donationware/ shareware idea. Over 75 bucks is pretty neat.

I can't help but be curious as to if this larger donation was mine.

You know, I really do like the "pay however much you feel the game is worth" concept.

Wow! Great demo! Tons of fun. I might just go ahead and buy this. It reminds me of an exploration/jumper. Amazing!
