The CORE Update: Episode Delayed Shaltif // 21:42
Hello everyone,

For those expecting the CORE update tonight, I apologize for not having it ready.  For you see, today is my birthday, and I have other things keeping me occupied ^_^ (that and I didn't get much work done on CORE this week due to the hectic schedule).

If you haven't noticed already, there is no demo of the game available as I was hoping to have by this time.  This is mainly because I over estimated my free computer time when transitioning from a part-time to full-time job, along with other summer events.  So, development is a bit behind where I expected it a month ago.  With that said, a lot has got done over the course of a month, with most of the engine mechanics completed.  Currently, I need to develop all the skills, enemies and waves, and that's pretty much it.   Once those are done, a playable beta may be released (whether publicly or not, this has yet to be determined).

So with that, I head back to my birthday plans.  For the curious, I am now 22 ;)

My guesses:

1) Beer
2) Beeeeeeeautiful ladies
3) More of (1) and definitely more of (2).

Am I close?

1)  Never.  I'm not a drinking fellow ;)
2)  I wish...a few years ago, maybe...(ah, the memories)

Nah, most of the day I spent playing video games.  As for gifts, I got a cell phone (very unexpected), Ritz crackers and a bag of doritos...and now you know why I bought myself an LCD monitor a few days prior to my birthday ;)  For a change of pace tho, I was home this time around.  Usually my birthday happens during trips to the shore, mountains, grand parents, baseball game in Chicago or some other 'far off destination'.

btw, for those of you who haven't seen my LCD monitor:  http://www.shaltif.com/stuff/images/LCD1.jpg

So with that, I settle down for the evening and get ready for monday morning.  Ah...8 hour shifts...getting good $$ tho.

EDIT: ah, yes, 8 hour shits.  I really need to watch my typos.

Happy birthday man! I'll be a fellow 22er in october. I'd have guessed you were a couple of years older than me.

No drinking, and no beautiful ladies? Sounds like you already have a girlfriend, maybe?

I seem to do that with everyone I meet online, I just assume they are older than me.  Back when I was 14 and new to the internet, this was usually a correct assumption.  But now, I'm finding out that's usually not the case anymore.  Getting old is a bit of a 2 way street, you gain knowledge/experience which makes you look like that 'elite badass who seems to know everything' but at the same time, you miss the days where you could just 'seemingly' do whatever you want all day long without a care in the world...I miss those days...

Anywho...

Sounds like you already have a girlfriend, maybe?
At one time, I could have answered yes to that.  But those days have come and gone.  So currently, no.

happy birthday!
Thanks everyone!  Here's to another good year.
