Hmm - not sure about this 'blogging' thing... might give it a try for a while. Pictures being worth a thousand words as they are, here's a little taste of how things are going...
Enjoy.

Excellent use of lighting effects, as always. The amount of detail you put into your artwork is insane...a talent I wish I had. Can't wait to try this game out ;)
As for issues, I have a concern about how 'dark' the dark area's are for me (almost pitch black) but this may be a gamma issue. Another thing I notice is the font is quite detailed...almost too much, as it can be hard to read some words depending on the letter combination. If this is a custom font, is there a way to slightly tone down the artistic effect? (For example, a period and a comma look almost identical). Just some things to consider.
Also, what is the res for this game? The screenshot seems like a widescreen render.

All looking very nice indeed. How's this little baby coming along anyway? Much progress, gamplay wise?

Thanks Shaltif - I'll have to look into gamma issues on certain machines, as yours isn't the first response I've had in that direction, although on my own machine it's still very clear. The font most certainly is custom, as it's my own handwriting, like most of the rest of the game. :P Refining it is already somewhere on the to-do list, and yes, as you say, it's widescreen. I haven't tested it on standard displays regarding stretching and stuff, so we'll see about including display options for that.
Progress-wise... slowly and surely, I guess. One pixel at a time.

Stunning! If the gameplay matchs the visuals, you'll have it there. Looking very much forward to it!

Just some thoughts on designing a game widescreen:
You have to remember that only a small portion of PC users use widescreen monitors. If you keep the widescreen option, definitely leave a windowed mode available, at the very least.

I loved the demo when I played it, what most people not in eo dont relize is the amount of character each character in the game really has. The story is also really inviting and works very well. The visuals are just the icing on the cake in my opinion from what Ive seen of the game.

Not being in eo, I've never played this, but I think it looks excellent. The graphics are beautiful, and what I know of the storyline and what I see of the dialogue in the above picture seem almost Lewis Carroll-ish. Which is good, in my book.

Haha - thank you. I'll be a while before it's ready yet...
Viewing this image on a different machine, I see where you're coming from, Shaltif. That is dark.

Interesting. Maybe when I played the demo it was darker than intended, which was my only real complaint.
I wonder if it's the flatscreen monitor I have - seems to be generally quite ropey with dark stuff anyway.
