I haven't been around much recently, and I'm here to give a quick preview as to why:
(The 3 screens are to show that the effect is done in real-time and even follows music)
CORE is back, completely redesigned from the ground up. For those who know what CORE was, you can now cheer (all 4 of you? =P). For those who don't, you'll find out soon enough. More next weekend.

I likes the brown look.
What's it all about anyways?
And where's my sandwich...?

Good question, something I forgot to mention in the above post. I don't want to give out full details until next weekend (maybe earlier if I can isolate all the bugs before then), so you'll have to wait until my next blog for that information. However, I can give you this:=The game runs at 60FPS with full effects running at about 50% cpu on this machine. On lower hardware, effects can be turned off to gain performance (for example, you can turn down the effect on that core to just a circle if need be).
=This creation is powered by SVC (my extension suite for Game Maker 7.0 Pro) and is the showcasing app for this API. With that in mind:
--All code* and resources are external and loaded dynamically on runtime.
--Supports full network (online) multiplayer (using the network module). Powered by my custom GMsock build.
--Has one of the best audio engines around (using the audio module). Powered by FmodEx. You can play your own songs, and even internet radio stations while playing this game. Got winamp? This game can load up .m3u playlists.
=Save replays (even online plays) to file so you can watch your great moments again and again.
=Online Co-op, up to 8** players, enough said.
*this will probably change by the final build.
**Actual number may change after I can confirm how well the game plays with that many people.
And where's my sandwich...?
It's on the counter where you left it.~Brandon

This isn't the showcase app for nothing ::) I plan to release the console shortly after this game's release. It has been a very long time (SVC started development before SXMS Player 3.0) but I think it's ready for a public test. Of course, Eo will get first dibs on beta testing.

Looking very nice! The only thing that's bugging me is the distorted E in CORE.

Yeah, that appears to be an error with the font that I am using. For now, I'm letting it go so I can concentrate on more important matters. But I do plan to either fix the graphic manually or find a different font. Thanks for noticing ;)~Brandon
