That is, unless you don't consider game deving 24/7 for 2 weeks, frequently forgetting to eat and drink, and often finding one KO'ed victim near the end of each day, not hardcore. Heh.
Yeah, I've been busy. Haven't spent much time in Eo recently at all, with everything being so turbulent lately. My team and I have been rushing to finish up Immunocide and MBF as fast as possible, as the April 20th deadline is looming ever closer. Personally, I believe that we've been very inefficient, considering the time we've spent in the past two weeks. We faced a fair number of painful setbacks, including having to completely cut out one potentially awesome part of MBF in order to meet the rapidly approaching deadline. It took a long time finding a cumbersome way of putting Thai text into Immunocide. Foreign-language support in Game Maker 7.0 Pro is absolutely horrendous. Polishing MBF to near-perfection took much longer than I ever imagined. Then there's the box cover. Not as easy as I originally thought. The worst thing that happened though, was somehow losing the latest version of Immunocide. Absolutely baffling. I had to go back and do a fair amount of recoding there. And more stuff like that.
If you haven't been following, my team and I are planning to sell two PC games made with GM7.0P at a Thai comic convention on April 28th. Originally, I wanted to also present a new playable demo of VouSei Advent, but time unfortunately isn't on our side.
It's been delays after delays, but this is one deadline that must be met. We already reserved a booth.
Anyway, wish us luck.
Now, excuse me for a few hours while I collapse on the bed.

Bwahaha - deadlines. I remember when I thought I'd meet even one...
Is your deadline self-imposed or because of the comic convention? On that subject, if/when you go, be sure to take photos etc.

best of luck. just be sure that you don't sacrifice the quality of the game(s) by over working on them. as is often the case in such matters, more work = less work.
and, like sreh mentioned, be sure to show us some snappies :D

Oh, that is most definitely hardcode.
Anyway, deadlines can be either a blessing or a curse. On the one hand, you get that extra drive to get everything done, but on the two hand, you might end up rushing the game too much, or having to cut out those cool little extras you had planned.

It's because of the comic con. We're wrapping up for real this time. MBF is 100% complete. Immunocide is 100% complete. Both 99% bug-free, except for ones that still pop up once every 1000 play sessions.But... it's not over yet! The Thai translation for Immunocide is 80% done... and because of GM7.0P's horrid support, all that translation will have to be retyped into the codes itself. Tried reading from text file - didn't work. Tried copy-paste - didn't work. Urgh. Fortunately, MBF doesn't need a translation - but its Readme.txt was fully translated.
The box covers - front, side & back - for each game are almost done. Only a final check-and-tweak left to do.
On that subject, if/when you go, be sure to take photos etc.
We WILL go no matter what. Even if we end up crashing our car, sending all the copies flying out onto the road, with trucks smashing every single one of them... we will still drag our broken bodies to the convention and present the games as playable demos on our laptops - given that those laptops do not also become scrap metal from the collision. Mwahaha!I've completely forgotten about taking photos though. I'll try not to forget. :P

I say it's all good. We always have another project on the drawing board. ;)Pages: 1
