Nintendo Wii Chronic // 02:45
After my pre-order (console and zelda) was delayed days due to lack of stock, i finally got a Wii about 5-6 days ago and i have enjoyed every minute of it.

When the delivery guy arrived i was still sleeping and was woke up from a mixture of the door bell, knocking on the door and dogs barking. Knowing there was no one in i grabbed my pants and ran down stairs to answer it. At this point i could hardly see as my eyes were still adjusting to the light, and i had even less clue who was at the door, or why.

After successfully pulling on my pants and unlocking the door at much the same time, i was confronted with a man with a few packages in one arm, and some type of PDA in the other. "Sign here please", he said, so i grabbed the stylus and started writing. It was at this point my brain woke up and said "hey, this must be your Wii!!", lets just say that my signature has never been so messy.

I really wasn't expecting to get it, as just to day before i had phoned to check up on my order to see when to expect it "We are expecting a delivery next week, so you should get it then". So i guess you can imagine the shock i got waking up the next day to get it.

After closing the door i placed the packages on the table and removed some blue bag that it was and took the remains in to the next room where the tv was and started to set it all up. I was pretty shocked at how small the console is. If you've ever seen a slimline playstation 2, well the wii is about the same size but double the height.

First up, Wii Sports.

I was really looking forward to playing this game, especially tennis as i've always enjoyed playing tennis games since one i had for the sega megadrive (aka genesis) many year ago.

So i started up the game, and realised i forgot to make a mii. While this isn't really required for playing the game as there are "guest" mii's you can use. I really didn't want to use a guest because i was told by a friend that when you play the games you gain rankings in each of the games. After making a mii that i was happy with i returned back to the game.

I started by playing one round in each of the sports, just to get a feel of them and to say that i've played it kinda thing, and then went back to tennis for a more "serious" go.

All was going well up until i made a back hand hit and over extended my arm only to hear a loud crack and feel a lot of pain in my elbow. After quickly pausing the game i was sure that i had broke my elbow after only around 1:30 hours of owning the console (yes, i checked the time). A few minutes passed and the pain died down and things felt ok... that was until i made a similar shot and the pain returned. To make a long story short, i think i've only torn a ligament and the cracking noise was probably like the one similar to cracking a knuckle... nothing really to stop me playing.

Later on that day i noticed the time was about that of when my dad was leaving work, so i phoned him and asked to call to a shop to pick up a few more games for me. Coincidently he was already at the shop with my mother shopping for food so i asked him to go check what games they had in stock. From the list the only thing i wanted was Wii Play.

After showing my dad the basics of how to use the controller, i set him up to play golf and left him to it. He's a keen golfer so i thought it would be the perfect first game for him to play. It was funny for me seeing him take up the proper golf stance and swinging like he was on a real course. He was even looking at the floor at where the ball would be, but i must admit, for a first go he did pretty good.

Later that day my brother and i played wii play, while the games are really simple, they are also very addicting. I'm not going to review them all because in my opinion this blog entry is already running a little long but i think my favorite games are pose mii, billiards, fishing and tanks.

Zelda. First words to decribe this game is Wow, and that was just the title screen. I've not been disappointed by this game yet. Everything i've seen so far i've been impressed with, the story line is awesome, the graphics of the game are awesome and i've been told it looks even better using the component or rgb cables. I don't want to say much about this game incase slip with some spoilers but i certainly recommend you get it.

Today Rayman raving rabbids arrived, while story mode is short at only 5-6 hours (i finished it in one sitting) its a very fun game with some surprisingly challenging games in the mix. Don't let the short time put you off, after my brief play of "score mode" i can see this is where the hours will be spent playing. Score mode allows for 1 to 4 players where you compete to gain top scores in each of the games which then unlock things in the bonuses menu. I've only unlocked one thing so far which was a rather amusing video called "Rabbits can't milk cows".

And that brings me to the end of my Wii write up... i may write more on this as i get more games for it (which could be tomorrow), but for now this is it.

Looks like you have enjoyed your experience, and are still having fun!  I want a Wii to, if only I had a job.

In the Nintendo Power it says that they update the Mii face options or something.
