Avaus off and on for quite a while now, and I think I'll be able to finish it some time this year. It has 131 rooms so far, and it looks like this:

I notice the images are 800x480. This some type of widescreen res or were these purposely cut to that dimension?

reminds me of Blaster Master.
This game is definitely inspired in part by Blaster Master.
sprites are glaringly... "disconnected
A lot of the graphics aren't finalized. Although I sometimes like incongruous visuals in independent games, I'll probably want to weed them out in the end, and I'll appreciate this type of feedback.

Hmm, the ship looks too bright in that dark place. It'd be better if it was like, shaded more or something when it was underground. Maybe it fits with everything else, I dunno.
I can really comment on the art too much. Haven't really *seen* much of it.

Carnivac // 23:32Looks alright. Bit sparse and simple for my tastes but that's your style (and to some extent lupi's too which is why I guess you two have that vellela project thing and where the hell is that anyways) and it looks fine.
Those brown blocks sure do remind me of the tiles my nan used to have in her kitchen in the 80's. I used to sit in the doorway of the backdoor and 'dig' up the edges of those tiles. She wasn't pleased.
