I started playing on normal, but then I read a comment somewhere that suggested that normal becomes quite difficult later. So I started over on easy to be sure I'd be able to see the whole game. But I noticed that it isn't just easier, there are a lot of things missing.
Will I miss out on significant content playing on easy? And is normal hard on the level of, say, Jumper? I thought I'd ask because I'd like to get the full experience but I almost never play a game twice.

I say on Normal mode it's still easier than Jumper, because I actually have the patience to play this one. :) Of course, I guess I wasn't too big on Jumper for other reasons too... but yeah, I suggest playing on Normal. I haven't tried any of the harder ones; frankly I'm afraid to.
This game is very wonderful. I'm getting really close to the end here. Stuck at BlackCastle, about 70% complete. I really like all the secret passages and extra, minute things to do that you gradually find, and The Curtain area is very wild and strange in a good way. Just amazing.
Also, my little brother really enjoys it.

The Curtain was actually my single favorite area while developing the game - both in concept and finished result - which is partly why it holds so much backstory. After I finished that area I sat back and thought, that single awesome area justifies me making this entire stupid game :P While working on the game, it was very much a love-hate relationship, mostly because I chose to (at the start) just dive in with no planning.
Looking back, from my perspective, I see the game more as a journal than a video game. It's basically just the contents of my imagination over a two-year period, although I did go back at the end to balance the difficulty and make everything more consistent (though some critics would argue I failed miserably at balancing the difficulty :P ah well, such is life).

Heh, I've played without gamepads for so long, playing with one feels horribly unnatural. I play everything much better without one, and I can tell this game would be very awkward for me. Keyboards feel more precise for me somehow....
