Today I just finished up an IGF trailer of my current big work in progress TUNING. TUNING is a game that can't be explained in a very interesting way, but it has already won an award at this year's IndieCade for Sublime Experience, and so far I have gotten a lot of positive feedback, so I'm pretty confident that it'll turn out to be a nice experience for most people who will end up playing it.
You can watch the trailer here:

There are also several other games developed within the community that has been entered. Messhof's Flywrench, Deadheat and Phuban's (or Brothers Gemini as they prefer to be called) Sword of Legend, Srehpog's Umbrella Adventure, CoolMoose and YMM's RunMan: Race around the world, and Rinku's Saturated Dreamers (and I'm not even sure that's all of them).
This means that if you look at it optimistically, the odds that an Eo member will win an award is relatively high, and a nomination or two seems likely. So, let's hope 2010 goes our way ;)

good shot.
in my opinion, this has potential to be the best video game that you've created. i can't wait to play it and find out if that potential is fulfilled.
i'm rooting for you to snare an award with it.

nice trailer - however, i must mention that the "tune in to something new" at the start is very, very cheesy. it has quite a low-grade product advertisement sound too it.
it's probably too late to change, but it might be better with something that fits the viewing experience a bit more ("tune your mind" perhaps?). oh well - the video game still intrigues the mess out of me ;)

Yeah, I totally agree. Yours is much better. My mind went blank when I tried to think of something to write. I had originally intended to do more text and show a text snippet every now and then spread across the video instead of just doing a cheesy tagline. But I didn't want the game to sound pretentious. I'll think of a better tagline for the next trailer, or probably just steal the one you came up with, haha ;)i must mention that the "tune in to something new" at the start is very, very cheesy. it has quite a low-grade product advertisement sound too it. it's probably too late to change, but it might be better with something that fits the viewing experience a bit more ("tune your mind" perhaps?).

i'm glad you didn't go that text-heavy route. i think the trailer as a whole is excellent and does a great job of expressing both the game/level design and the aesthetic experience. text interruptions likely would've contradicted the essence of the game play (which, from what i played, leaves the player to learn by experimentation and discovery via tactile/visual relationships, rather than by text dictation).

Lotta IGF entries this year. It's gonna be tough to choose 5 per category. Here's hoping for the best :B
